THE LESSON ON GERUND AND INFINITIVE
A. Put verbs in brackets in the gerund or the infinitive form:
1- he agreed (buy)……..............a new car
2- we decided (run)……............through the forest

5- I regret (tell)….................Mary about the wedding
6- The congress refused (pass)….................. a tax reduction bill.
7- Avoid (make)…..........................silly mistakes
8- My parents wanted me (be)….......................home at 11
9- I really enjoy (watch)….........................a good movie
10- The president promised (fight)….................for lower taxes in the next term
B. Some verbs can only take a gerund, some can only take infinitive, and some can take both. Make the correct choice:
1- John stopped……….. because it was bad for his health (smoking/ to smoke/ both)
2- She plans…… a trip during her vacation (taking/ to take/ both)
3- When do you think he will begin……......for the big test? (studying/ to study/ both)
4- After you finish……….would you please clean the dishes (eating/ to eat/ both)
